The other day, I was out at this area of Hemlock-Canadice State Forest checking on a cache and I noticed how much garbage there was - mainly in the field nearby and along the road, but also along various pathways (or what used to be pathways). Since Stump14 had wanted to host a CITO in Livingston County, but we had not heard back from the spring cleanup contact, I suggested cleaning up this area. He agreed. So, this event will be hosted by Stump 14, Candy Apple 68, and me.
I contacted the Avon DEC office, which was delighted to work with us on this endeavor! Temporary Permit (for event hopefully over 20 people) was approved in less than a day. The only drawback to this location is that there are no bathrooms. So, my wife and I decided to call a nearby supplier to have one available. O"Brien's Portable Toilets will have a port-a-potty delivered by Fri 4/26 for the weekend.
Lisiting coordinates take you to a spot on Mission Road next to parking, so you would see the icon if you search for it, as I have a puzzle cache listed at the parking coordinates.

Besides the port-a-potty, we will be supplying water, garbage bags, and sanitary gloves. The rest, such as remote grabbers, is up to you.
Terrain rating of 3.0 is for the worst terrain that I think people might encounter. The parking lot is about 1.5. The nearby field is 2.5. There is a well trod trail headed down to the falls which is rated 3.0. Because this is a remote area with almost no marked trails, we will be encouraging teamwowk and will do our best to record teams picking up garbage together that we will then check off to make sure everyone returns safely. I have Verizon service - I have gotten and received both emails and text messages in this area.
I will have a cache published for those attending the CITO at the end of cleanup. There are a few other caches in this general area to find as well.
