Geocache Description:

05 April 2024, 16:00 - 16:30

Hey, All!  I am an out-of-towner coming in from South Lake Tahoe, California to kick off a little weekend road trip, starting right here (or near) in Chicago.  My co-pilot on this adventure doesn't arrive till 5 (coming in from Seattle) so I've got a little time to kill awaiting his flight.  What better way to while away a day then finding a little time for a geocaching meet and greet!  In my experience, local breweries tend to make the best communtiy centers and easy spots to share stories, swap trackables, and learn from the locals.  No purchase necessary...  and I'll bring some stickers from my local spot to share.

A little quick back story... for the upcoming adventurte:  So my buddy and I are old friends from High School.  Just after our freshman year in college (going to different schools) we decided to try a good old-fashioned american road trip.  Seattle to Pittsburgh and back...  9 days, 15 states, 6,000 miles and a lifetime of stories to tell.  That was back in 2001.  I had no idea about geoaching then.  Since that trip we've managed to get together for several more road trips criss-crossing this amazing country of ours.  We currently sit at having visited 45 states together and this little adventure nets us 2 more to that list.   I'll also be able to grab caches in 4 new states, brining my geocaching US state total to 47 overall.

As we're cruising from Chicago to Pittsburgh this weekend (finishing the little journey by running back the original destination to see old friends), I'd love to hear any ideas about what we should see and do, and especially from this community...  if therre are any MUST-Cache Geocaches along the way.  Hopefully I'll have already made it to Beverly (GC28) and back before this event and will be looking forward to more!

Hope to see some folks there!  I'll be the one in the Stanford Hat and Pit Vipers.  Probably wearing something that says South Lake Brewing Company.  Bring any trackables you want moved along eastward or back to California!
