Attend a CITO event between 1st March - 31st May to earn the souvenir
TREE CARE IN THE HEDGE OF THE MOUND AT HORSBERE RESERVE
Parking: Suggested parking is in the car park at the provided coords, there is a footbridge to take you over to Horsbere Brook Reserve. Or if there is space you can park by the gates leading in to the Reserve (Parking area / meet-up point).
Where: Meet by the main gates at 09:30 or after that time find us working along the hedge adjacent to the track - look for the mulch pile!
What: We will be caring for the young trees in the hedgerow - weeding, mulching, removing guards: generally ensuring the trees have the best conditions to grow healthily into a great habitat and wildlife corridor.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance. We ask you to please bring your own work gloves if possible and if you wish to bring your own tools (bucket, shovel, shears) please do so. Don't worry if you don't have tools as the Ranger will have a supply.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction.
Please bring a drink and/or snack for breaktime. Homemade cake will be provided 🙂
