Geocache Description:

10 April 2024, 12:00 - 12:30

The Slow Motion Campus Tour is a (perhaps never-ending) series of geocaching events at various noteworthy places on the University of Washington Campus. In recognition of the April 8 solar eclipse, we will be visiting the sundial on the south face of the Physics-Astronomy Building. Unlike most sundials, this is mounted vertically high on the wall, where it can be seen as you pass by on the Burke-Gilman Trail. The sundial is one of many science-related works of art built into the building. For more, climb the nearby stairs up to the plaza.

For safety's sake, stay off the bicycle area of the Burke-Gilman. The posted coordinates are a blacktop area next to the building that's usually relatively quiet.

As usual, driving isn't recommended. This event should be an easy walk from the Husky Stadium Light Rail station, and there is a bus stop directly below the nearby overpass over NE Pacific Street.
