Geocache Description:

18 April 2024, 13:00 - 16:00

18th April - Arduously Annihilating Avellana

CITO 2024, Season 1
Attend a CITO from Friday 1st March through to Friday 31st May 2024 to get an official CITO Souvenir

Parking: There are lots of options for parking, see the relevant waypoints. Rea Lane is very narrow and so if you would prefer not to worry about parking then Sims Lane may be easier, if a bit of a longer walk to get to the meeting point. If you do attempt Rea Lane and find both suggested parking areas are full then you will need to park further up the lane and walk down.

Where:  Find us at Suggested Parking 1 waypoint at 1300, or use the waypointed trail ahead for the main path, at the reference point turn right to get to the headline coords.

What:  We will be carefully clearing hazel, blackthorn and scrub to open the area up. We will be mindful of any nesting birds and so if any activity is discovered we may relocate. There is also the possibility of a bonfire!

How: The warden will be there providing guidance. We ask you to bring your own gloves and if you have them tools, so if you have loppers and a saw please do bring them along. Don't worry if you don't have them as the warden will have a supply too, but we will need you to log that you require tools.

If it has recently rained the site does tend to hold water and so wellies are advised.

Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by Gloucester County Council insurance as long as you are working under the warden's instruction.

Please make sure you bring along your own refreshments.

Dogs: This is a nature reserve with Swan's nesting on the pond, in addition to wild deer roaming the area. If your dogs are reactive to wildlife then they unfortunately are not able to come to this site.
