Everyone knows about Cinco de Mayo, in celebration of General Ignacio Zaragoza's defeat of the French army at Puebla de Los Angeles. But what you may not know is that Juárez rounded up a ragtag force of 2,000 loyal men that were vastly outnumbered. So on Quartro de Mayo, May 4th, he plied his troops with frozen mango margueritas to give them the fortitude to defeat the vastly superior French army. So today, we can enjoy some frozen mango gelatos to prepare for what comes tomorrow!
