As the warm weather is fading I thought having one more paddle before the winter sets in would be good. The beautiful Nagambie Lake and Goulburn Weir – dotted with many caches- is the perfect location.
Kirwans Bridge, the site of this event, has an interesting history and is currently closed – there is still much activity to re-open it – a vital link for the local community and a wonderful experience for visitors. The shire is seeking funding of 5.5-6.5m to open the bridge again. (source: https://www.strathbogie.vic.gov.au/update-kirwans-bridge-january-2024/)
Come down to the water's edge, enjoy a catch-up, some yummy food and a yarn or two. Bring a kayak if you want to come paddling after the event!
PLEASE NOTE the bridge is closed and access to the event site is from the western side. It is a 12 minute drive from Nagambie to the event location via Nagambie-Rushworth and Weir Roads
Looking forward to seeing you there
