KATY 140 – Up in arms at 'The Vale Royal Abbey Arms'

This is the 140th KATY event, and this month it’s at The Vale Royal Abbey Arms in Oakmere. A 200 year old coaching house named after the nearby Vale Royal Abbey.
It doubled up as a court until 1899 when the prisoners were held in the cellars. Any given the death sentence were taken through an underground tunnel to the stables, and hung by the neck until dead.

The evening will follow the usual KATY format of food, drink and chat...with, hopefully one of my nice puzzle caches to fill the evening, which will have been published for the event....you lucky, lucky people..
KATY events started in 2011 and have been held somewhere in the North West on a regular basis ever since. There are many regular attendees but a warm welcome is extended to all and cachers old and new are welcome. If you intend to come along, please log a Will Attend and if possible, mention in your log the number of attendees and whether or not you expect to be eating. This way I can keep the venue updated on numbers so we will have enough tables reserved, thank you!
There’s no need to buy any food or drink in order to attend this event. You can just come and say hello and sign the KATY logbook to qualify, though there is always the danger of getting drawn into a conversation about Tupperware and staying a good while longer!
I will let you know a seating area nearer the time, you should be able to find a menu on line, if needed.
