This cache has been archived.

RedhedMary: In answer to JustJ's question, the glasses can be dropped off at any Kent District Library. They will be sent to another country where there will be an eclipse this fall.

Thanks everyone for coming!

Geocache Description:

08 April 2024, 14:00 - 16:00

If you hadn't heard, there will be a total eclipse of the sun on Monday, April 8.  Totality will be closest to us in Indiana, Ohio, and a teeny tiny strip of southeast Michigan.  For those of us who don't have plans to travel south to experience totality, I'm going to host an event in the land of 94% totality, namely the Grand Rapids area!  Maybe a little less darkness but a lot less traffic jams, high hotel prices, and other "perks" of experiencing this from our home area.

The eclipse will start for us at about 1:55 pm, and we will reach 94% totality at 3:11 pm.   Stop by at any time between 2 and 4 pm and keep your fingers crossed for clear weather!  I'll have eclipse sunglasses to use, or you may bring your own equipment to view the eclipse safely.

Join us at Roselle Park in Ada.  Coords are for nearest parking, we'll be somewhere close by.  I know it's a work day for many.  Tried to reschedule for a weekend but the sun just said no.  The moon agreed.

Lots of area caches both in the park and nearby.
