Singleton Park is a popular urban park in Swansea which hosts a number of geocaches. Sadly this popularity can come with a lot of litter! The volunteers from the Friends of Singleton Park hold a monthly litter pick in conjunciton with Keep Wales Tidy in order to keep on top of the fresh litter and get into the wilder parts of the park to remove historic rubbish.
This CITO is to join them in April when (hopefully) the weather is improving, but conditions underfoot are extremely damp at times in the park. Sensible footware is essential: hiking boots or even wellies. Most of the litter close to the tarmac paths has already been cleaned up, so expect to venture into the fields, bushes & more isolated nooks and crannies. Please also dress for the weather as April is tricky to predict. We could face anything from sunburn to snow!
The provisional meeting point is in the centre of the park adjacent to the Taliesin Car Park on Swansea University Singleton Campus. There is a charge for this car park, but there is also plenty of free parking around the park in Brynmill & Sketty. There are toilets nearby in both Singleton Park itself and the nearby Students Union.
On the day, if we're not too muddy/wet/tired, then I will propose retiring to a nearby location after the CITO for refreshments.
