I'm sure we won't be the only geocachers in Mazatlan for the total eclipse! It's tempting to host this event DURING the eclipse but I'm not going to make that commitment and likely no one else would commit to being there. Hopefully some people can join us on the beach to share their experiences of this rare event. And maybe swap some geocaching stories too.
We saw our first total eclipse in Madras, Oregon in 2017 right after a Going Ape event in Washington. It was an amazing experience and this one will last twice as long! We met many geocachers in Madras and would be surprised if the same doesn't happen here.
we might refine the coords a bit once we are in the country but just look for the green geocaching flag to find us!
UPDATE: We will meet near the small concrete structure at the corner of Riu property. Parking and public access is available at the end of Avenida del Yugo beside Cerritos Resort.
