May the Fourth be With You
A National Play Outside, Weather Observers, Orange Juice, Star Wars Day Event
Did you know that May 4th is National Stars Wars Day? Did you know that May 4th is National Orange Juice Day? Did you know that May 4th is National Weather Observers Day? Did you know that May 4th – being the first Saturday of the month this year – is National Play Outside Day?
Me neither! Well, maybe I knew the first one.
This event combines all four of them:
- Star Wars – the theme.
- Orange Juice - will be provided (along with muffins).
- Weather Observers – we are Geocachers, need I say more?!
- Play Outside – that’s what Geocaching is all about!
The event will start at 9:00AM on Saturday, May 4, and end at 10:30AM. The location is the far end of the Crystal Lake Sports Fields – parking is approximately ½ mile away. You can walk/bike/scooter/skateboard to the location from parking. (You can also come from Willamette Park, but that is a significantly longer walk.) There is a paved path from parking almost all the way to the event site, but the last couple of hundred feet will be on a grass field. Being Oregon, being May, it may be muddy!
NOTES:
*You may want to bring a lawn chair.
*Attending this event will earn you the “Blue Switch Day” souvenir, if you don’t already have it.
*Activities will include a cornhole tournament and a couple of geocaching type puzzles (not official and no smileys, but there will be FTF solve/find prizes).
