Cache In Trash Out (CITO) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Geocachers will pick up trash in parks and then dispose of it thoughtfully. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoors.
We will meet at the posted coordinates and clean up a WHOLE LOT of trash. Permission has been granted by the property owners to clean up this area and they are excited! Bring your trash grabbers and some work gloves. Trashbags will be provided.
For the 11th straight year, this event will be held in coordination with Keep America Beautiful's "Get Down and Get Dirty" citywide trash cleanup. Cachers who attend this event will automatically be participants in the annual Keep America Beautiful "Get Down and Get Dirty" event.
At noon, participants should take any trash collected to the Keep America Beautiful office at the coordinates posted below. As in years past, Keep America Beautiful will provide, free of charge, a lunch consisting of hot dogs, chips, canned sodas, and bottles of water.
T-shirts will also be available again this year. They are the same as last year's (gray), but the design will be white instead of green. Please provide your shirt size in your log if you would like a FREE t-shirt!
