The open areas are well maintained by council but the vegetation areas and especially the areas to the sides of the path ways tend to be a haven for the odd amount of discarded drink and food containers. This is the area we will concentrate on.
Depending on the numbers there is a possiblity of a sausage sizzle and niblies abvailable at the conclusion of the CITO.
Hope to see you there.
What is a CITO ( posted for the newer Geocachers of our community.) From the gc.com site.
Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 363,000 people have volunteered at 18,000 CITO events.
Twice per year, geocachers can earn virtual souvenirs by hosting and attending events during CITO seasons. Visit the Help Center for information on the next CITO season.
Attend CITO Events
At CITO events, geocachers and community groups work together to improve parks and other outdoor environments. They clean up litter, plant trees, remove invasive species, build trails, and more.
