Happy Earth Day everybody! What better way to celebrate than helping the earth by cleaning up trash? This event is set up in conjunction with the Village of Island Lake. This’ll be shortly after the end of the village’s free Earth Day expo (10:00-14:00) that we will have a booth representing Geocaching, so feel free to check us out if you feel like coming early. If not, that’s fine as well. After the expo, we will be setting up at the pavilion by the basketball court/baseball fields. Because it is set up with the village, we are allowed to park in the village hall parking lot. It will just be a trash cleanup event. If you have gloves and/or trash grabbers, I highly recommend bringing them. We will have extras that people can use as well. We will have waivers for people to sign at the event (people under the age of 18 need a parent’s signature), or you can find it by clicking here. Snacks and water will be provided. We will be cleaning up starting at the village hall and going down the forested path going through to Greenleaf Park.
