CZ: Tento rok bude mnohými událostmi opravdu výjimečný. Bude výjimečný jak v geosvětě tak i ve světě hokejovém. Během května bude totiž Česká republika, konkrétně Praha a Ostrava, hostit Mistrovství světa v ledním hokeji. Rozhodli jsme se, že tato významná událost se musí využít a připravili jsme pro vás sérii několika keší po místech spjatých s hokejem v Praze. Připravili jsme keše různých typů, velikostí a obtížností o hokejových stadionech, pražských hokejových klubech i o významných událostích z historie hokeje. Pokud vše vyjde, připravíme pro vás i několik eventů s hokejovou tématikou a možná nejen v Praze. Jediné, co zajisté nepokryjeme, je Ostrava. Budeme moc rádi, pokud se k nám někdo z Ostravy připojí a vytvoří alespoň jednu hokejovou keš i v Ostravě.
Keše budou v nepravidelných intervalech vycházet od začátku ledna 2024 až do konce mistrovství světa. Celý projekt nese název GEOHOCKEY a všechny keše ze série poznáte právě podle toho, že jejich název začíná názvem celého projektu. V každém logbooku v každé keši naleznete bonusové číslo, které si samozřejmě nezapomeňte zapsat. Při mistrovství pak bude publikováno ještě několik keší s hokejovou tématikou, které ale již nebudou mít v názvu projekt GEOHOCKEY.

GEOHOCKEY: HC Sparta Praha
HC Sparta Praha (celým názvem: Hockey Club Sparta Praha) je český klub ledního hokeje, který sídlí v pražském Bubenči a Libni. Založen byl v roce 1903 pod názvem AC Sparta Praha. Svůj současný název nese od roku 1990. V nejvyšší soutěži působí nepřetržitě od roku 1951. Předtím hrál nejvyšší soutěž také v letech 1936 až 1950. Sparta patří také mezi pravidelné účastníky evropských klubových soutěží. Klub získal osmkrát titul mistra republiky (naposledy v sezóně 2006/07) a dva Spenglerovy poháry, což z něj dělá jeden z nejúspěšnějších hokejových klubů v české historii. HC Sparta Praha hraje od roku 2015 své domácí zápasy v 02 aréně s kapacitou 17 360 diváků a drží nejvyšší průměr návštěvnosti domácích zápasů ze všech extraligových klubů.
V sezoně 1936/1937 se uskutečnil premiérový ročník celostátní ligy, sparťané v něm nechyběli a 3. ledna 1937 dokonce v Ostravě proti Vítkovicím odehráli vůbec první ligové utkání, které skončilo remízou 1:1. Po odehrání pouhých dvou sezon byly ligové boje až do roku 1945 přerušeny vlivem druhé světové války. V únoru 1950 sparťané poprvé a naposled sestoupili. Hned v sezoně 1950/1951 si vybojovali návrat zpět mezi elitu a od té doby už v nejvyšší soutěži nikdy nechyběli. V sezoně 1952/1953 dosáhli sparťané na historicky první mistrovský titul, když pod vedením hrajícího trenéra Vladimíra Zábrodského ovládli finálový turnaj před Vítkovicemi a Budějovicemi. Hned o rok později si radost z triumfu zopakovali, titul obhájili o skóre před Rudou hvězdou Brno. To už byl součástí týmu, který nesl název Spartak Praha Sokolovo, kromě Zábrodského i další člen All Star týmu klubu Karel Gut. V sezonách 1976/1977 a 1977/1978 přidali sparťané do své medailové sbírky další dva bronzy, poté nastal v 80. letech ústup na příčky ve středu tabulky. Od jara 1986 se liga dočkala trvalého zavedení play-off, které Holešovičtí napoprvé opustili již ve čtvrtfinále. Poté se ale začali postupně prokousávat vzhůru a v ročníku 1989/1990 dosáhli po dlouhých 36 letech na mistrovský titul. Čtvrtý triumf přidala Sparta hned o tři roky později, když na jaře 1993 získala poslední federální titul.
V sezoně 1994/1995, kdy započal svou pětiletou nadvládu suverénní Vsetín, se Praha po dlouhých 57 letech dočkala obnovení tradice derby mezi Spartou a Slavií. Naposledy se spolu pražská "S" střetla v premiérovém ligovém ročníku 1936/37, ve kterém Slavia sestoupila a na návrat čekala až do roku 1994. Vítěznou sérii Valachů dokázali sparťané přerušit až v sezoně 1999/2000, během které k mužstvu nastoupil kouč František Výborný. Po nevyvedeném ročníku 2004/05, kdy Sparta posílená díky výluce NHL o hvězdy ze zámoří nečekaně vypadla již ve čtvrtfinále, přišel další triumf. Ačkoliv tomu úvod sezony vůbec nenasvědčoval. Během listopadu ale nahradili kouče Šindela Výborný s Jelínkem a změny proběhly i ve vedení, do kterého se zapojil Viliam Sivek. Sparťané sice do vyřazovacích bojů proklouzli až na poslední chvíli ze šestého místa, ale v play-off už je nikdo nedokázal zastavit. Po finálové výhře nad Slavií mohli slavit. A jako jediný tým kromě Vsetína dokázali v samostatné české nejvyšší soutěži o rok později titul také obhájit! Po čtvrté příčce v základní části dokráčeli přes Zlín, Liberec a ve finále i přes Pardubice k již osmému triumfu. V následujících letech se sparťané dočkali dvou vyřazení ve čtvrtfinále, jednoho bronzu a v ročníku 2010/2011 také historického neúspěchu v podobě účasti v play-out.
Ročníkem 2015/16 byla odstartována nová kapitola klubové historie. Sparta se přesunula z Holešovic do libeňské O2 Areny a na domácím ledě odešla bez bodů pouze jednou. Parta kolem legendárního Jaroslava Hlinky zakončila základní část se 110 body na kontě a s nejvíce výhrami celkově i na domácím ledě v historii klubu. Přes Zlín a Plzeň pak sparťané dokráčeli do finále, kde se představili po devíti letech. V šestizápasové partii s Bílými Tygry nakonec neuspěli, ale na krk si pověsili stříbrné medaile.

EN: This year is going to be really special with many events. It will be exceptional both in the geo world and in the hockey world. During May, the Czech Republic, specifically Prague and Ostrava, will host the Ice Hockey World Championship. We decided that this important event must be used and we have prepared a series of caches of places connected with hockey in Prague. We have prepared caches of different types, sizes and difficulties about hockey stadiums, Prague hockey clubs and important events in the history of hockey. If everything works out, we will prepare several events with hockey themes and maybe not only in Prague. The only thing we won't cover is Ostrava. We will be very happy if someone from Ostrava will join us and create at least one hockey cache in Ostrava.
The caches will be released at irregular intervals from the beginning of January 2024 until the end of the World Championship. The whole project is called GEOHOCKEY and all caches in the series can be recognized by the fact that their name starts with the name of the whole project. In each logbook, you will find a bonus number in each cache, which of course you must remember to write down. There will be a few more caches with hockey themes published during the championship, but they will no longer have the GEOHOCKEY project in the title.

GEOHOCKEY: HC Sparta Praha
HC Sparta Praha (full name: Hockey Club Sparta Praha) is a Czech ice hockey club based in Bubenč and Libeň, Prague. It was founded in 1903 under the name AC Sparta Praha. It has borne its current name since 1990. It has been in the top league continuously since 1951. Before that, it also played in the top competition from 1936 to 1950. Sparta is also a regular participant in European club competitions. The club has won the national championship eight times (most recently in the 2006/07 season) and two Spengler Cups, making it one of the most successful hockey clubs in Czech history. Since 2015, HC Sparta Prague has played its home games in the 02 Arena with a capacity of 17,360 spectators and holds the highest average attendance of home games of all the extra-league clubs.
In the 1936/1937 season, the first year of the national league took place, the Spartans were not absent and on 3 January 1937 they even played their first ever league match against Vítkovice in Ostrava, which ended in a 1-1 draw. After playing only two seasons, the league struggles were interrupted by the Second World War until 1945. In February 1950 the Spartans were relegated for the first and last time. In the 1950/1951 season they won their way back to the elite and never missed the top competition since. In the 1952/1953 season, the Spartans won their first ever championship title when, under the leadership of the playing coach Vladimír Zábrodský, they dominated the final tournament ahead of Vítkovice and Budějovice. A year later they repeated their triumph, defending the title by a score ahead of Red Star Brno. By that time, another member of the All Star team, Karel Gut, was part of the team, which was called Spartak Praha Sokolovo. In the 1976/1977 and 1977/1978 seasons, the Spartans added two more bronzes to their medal collection, after which there was a retreat to the mid-table positions in the 1980s. From the spring of 1986 the league saw the permanent introduction of the play-offs, which the Holešovice team left in the quarter-finals for the first time. After that, however, they started to gradually work their way up and in 1989/1990 they won the championship after 36 years. Sparta added a fourth triumph just three years later when they won their last federal title in the spring of 1993.
In the 1994/1995 season, when the sovereign Vsetín began its five-year reign, Prague saw the renewal of the derby tradition between Sparta and Slavia after 57 years. The last time the two Prague "S" met was in the 1936/37 premier league season, in which Slavia was relegated and waited until 1994 to return. The Spartans were able to break the winning streak of the Valachians only in the 1999/2000 season, during which coach František Výborný joined the team. After a disappointing 2004/05 season, when Sparta, strengthened by the NHL lockout, was unexpectedly eliminated in the quarterfinals, another triumph came. Although the beginning of the season did not suggest it at all. During November, however, coach Šindel was replaced by Výborný and Jelínek, and changes were made in the management, which was joined by Viliam Sivek. The Spartans slipped into the playoffs at the last minute from the sixth place, but nobody could stop them in the playoffs. After the final win over Slavia, they could celebrate. And they were the only team other than Vsetín to defend their title in the Czech top competition a year later! After finishing fourth in the regular season, they went through Zlín, Liberec and Pardubice to their eighth triumph. In the following years, the Spartans were defeated twice in the quarter-finals, won one bronze medal and in 2010/2011 also suffered a historic play-off defeat.
The 2015/16 season marked the start of a new chapter in the club's history. Sparta moved from Holešovice to the O2 Arena in Libeň and went home without points only once. The team around the legendary Jaroslav Hlinka finished the regular season with 110 points and the most wins overall and on home ice in the club's history. The Spartans made it through Zlín and Pilsen to the final, where they made their first appearance in nine years. In a six-game match with the White Tigers, they failed to win, but hung the silver medals around their necks.
