4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

We decided to send Simba on his way again and thought that, although not exactly in the direction of South Africa, the terrain might be more to his liking than suburban Perth. The cache is a white plastic container. Follow the footpath down for safety until you need to leave it. Then watch your step. Be prepared to shift two or three small rocks, but don't let them roll away as you'll need to replace them....the vegetation is too sparse to use for cover. Definitely NOT the place to search in the dark. There's a great view and a nice park with BBQs back in town.
After Team Unknown's problems with unco-operative sheep I went out and re-checked the co-ordinates. I turned the GPS on 10km outside York and followed my original co-ordinates. They took me straight to the cache! Getting to the area itself might be a problem....you need to approach from Steere Road. Once you leave the car, follow the footpath around the base of the lookout. If you look to your left you should see the dead centre of town! I re-checked everything several times so would appreciate any further comments of problems.
Additional Information 28/1/03 - it appears that my GPS had the wrong position format in the set up and this is probably where the problem in finding the cache arose. This has been corrected and these are the new co-ordinates.
