Welcome to the 16th Anniversary of SideTracked Day, which falls in 2023 and is a short walk away from Deansgate Train Station in Manchester City Centre, with a view of the station from the event location.
Deansgate Railway Station is one of the smaller railway stations in Manchester City Centre (England), which was originally opened as Knot Mill and Deansgate in 1849, and based on Hewitt Street, then renamed as Knott Mill in 1860, before finally becoming Deansgate in 1971. Given it's size, it has just 2 platforms used by trains as well as 2 platforms used by trams, with 0.8 million passengers using the station in the year 2021/2022. Interestingly enough, the station has been presently known as either Deansgate, Manchester Deansgate or Deansgate G-Mex.
I plan on holding a short event a short walk away from the station entrance, and hope to see you there! Given the busy junction nearby, extra care is needed when crossing the main road, which is frequented by lots and lots of traffic - especially at rush hour!
