Classificado como Monumento Nacional em 1990, o Dólmen ou Anta pintada de Antelas é um dos mais importantes vestígios materiais da cultura megalítica em Portugal. Este monumento do megalitismo nacional localiza-se entre as povoações de Pereiras e Antelas, a cerca de 5 km da vila de Oliveira de Frades.
Este dólmen constituía-se como um santuário, onde se invocariam as forças da natureza e se efetuariam rituais e práticas mágicas, como o testemunham as pinturas que cobrem os esteios da anta.
Os vestígios materiais encontrados nas escavações são constituídos exclusivamente por instrumentos em pedra, com destaque para três machados de pedra polida, uma placa lisa de xisto, uma faca de sílex e diversos micrólitos, igualmente em sílex. Este espólio lítico ajudou à datação relativa da anta megalítica, que se situará, provavelmente, entre os 4500 e os 3500 anos a. C.
Vamos descobrir e conhecer esta anta ou dólmen beirão formado por uma câmara poligonal de oito esteios de pedra e uma galeria de cinco metros de comprimento e nove esteios, atingindo uma altura máxima de 1,30 metros. Todos os esteios da cripta camarária ostentam pinturas a preto e vermelho. Nestas representam-se figurações antropomórficas estilizadas, símbolos alusivos à Lua e ao Sol, motivos decorativos geometrizantes – como linhas serpentiformes e ziguezagueantes -, labirintos, dentes de serra e outros.

Classified as a National Monument in 1990, the Dolmen or Painted Dolmen of Antelas is one of the most important material remains of the megalithic culture in Portugal. This monument of national megalithism is located between the villages of Pereiras and Antelas, about 5 km from the village of Oliveira de Frades.
This dolmen was constituted as a sanctuary, where the forces of nature were invoked and rituals and magical practices were repelled, as witnessed by the paintings that cover the pillars of the dolmen.
The material remains found in the excavations are found exclusively by stone instruments, with emphasis on three polished stone axes, a smooth shale plate, a flint facade and several microliths, also in flint. This lithic remains helped to date the megalithic dolmen, which is probably between 4500 and 3500 years BC. W.
We will discover and get to know this dolmen or dolmen from Beira formed by a polygonal chamber with eight stone pillars and a gallery five meters long and nine pillars, reaching a maximum height of 1.30 meters. All pillars of the City Hall crypt are painted in black and red. These represent stylized anthropomorphic figurations, symbols alluding to the Moon and the Sun, geometrizing decorative motifs – such as serpentine and zigzag lines -, labyrinths, saw teeth and others.

Geocaminhada que dará a conhecer a importância e riqueza do património megalítico da Necrópole da Pedra da Broa que se estende entre o Aeródromo e o Dólmen de Antelas, com vários monumentos funerários de diferentes tipologias/cronologias.
Será uma caminhada com cerca 7 km, circular, que terá início e fim no Dólmen de Antelas. Não é um Percurso Pedestre de Pequena Rota (PR), não haverá sinalização ou marcação no terreno.
Geowalk that will make known the importance and richness of the megalithic heritage of the Necropolis of Pedra da Broa that extends between the Aerodrome and the Dolmen of Antelas, with several funerary monuments of different types/chronologies.
It will be a circular walk of about 7 km, which will start and end at the Antelas Dolmen. It is not a Small Route Pedestrian Route (PR), there will be no signs or markings on the ground.
