Geocache Description:

Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series

See #1 MLB World Series for a description of the series, including how to solve the puzzles.

This cache - Boston Red Sox

Originally named the Boston Americans, the team changed their name to the Red Sox in  1908.    Objectively one of the greatest teams, they have appeared in the 4th most World Series.    And subjectively, the team to root for, as they are the team I support.    They had a very long drought between their World Series win in 1918 and their next one, in 2004.  Many fans, including myself, wondered if we would ever see a Red Sox championship in our lifetime.   But since 2004, they added 3 more World Series wins.

Many of you already know about the greatest Red Sox player of all time, Ted Williams.   So I won't repeat that.  But I will give some love to their most recent Hall of Fame inductee, David Ortiz.  Nicknamed "Big Papi",  he played 20 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1997 to 2016, primarily for the Boston Red Sox. After playing parts of six seasons with the Minnesota Twins with unremarkable results, Ortiz moved to the Red Sox, where he played a leading role in ending the team's 86-year World Series championship drought in 2004, as well as winning championships in 2007 and 2013; he was named the World Series Most Valuable Player in 2013.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then, the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here: - Little Bridges Geocaching Series (littlebridgesseries.co.uk). If you would like to add to the series, please go to this site, on the tab Get Involved click number request and fill in the form. To qualify, the bridge must be a footbridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to the stats list.
