Stanstead St Margarets Church of St Margarets is located along Hoddesdon Road. It is part of the benefice of Great Amwell, St Margarets and Stanstead Abbotts.
All of the four churches in the benefice are Grade II listed. The Church of St Margarets dates from around the twelfth century and includes a chamber organ which has been converted into a barrel organ. Beside the windows are 52 carved heads of people and animals. The church is occasionally open for teas and during the village's flower festival.
To find the cache: Have a look for a small piece of metal beside the door to the church. This is a piece of a canberra fuselage from a bomber that got into trouble on a training flight from Basingbourn. It crashed into the New River close by with two crew dieing and one surviving. Now look for a tomb close by dedicated to the Rev. Charles Pratt. You are looking for the date and month of death AB CD
