Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a new series of mystery caches located along the trail to Moose Pond. The cache is not at the listed location. You will need to solve a fairly simple puzzle to get the actual coordinates for the cache. To solve this puzzle, you need to find the coordinates of a famous fly-fishing river that are hidden somewhere on this page. Enter these coordinates in Google Maps or similar map program and look for the name of the River. You will then enter the name of the River, and the full name (no abbreviations) of the state in which it is located into Puzzle-Checker. If the river is not located in the US, enter the country instead of the state. For example, if the river is the Saranac River, your answer is SaranacRiverNewYork (No Spaces). Submit this answer to Puzzle-Checker, and you will receive the actual coordinates, and possibly a hint to find the cache.

This is a large beautiful river located in SW Idaho. It has a large run of very large steelhead with many fish over 20 pounds and some up to 30 pounds. I spent several days fishing here on the break between my 3rd and 4th years of medical school. I also spent my week of vacation during my internship fishing here. I was in San Francisco doing my internship and a friend was able to get me a ride on a Lear Jet that was returning from SF to Lewiston Idaho. Unfortunately, I had to make other arrangements to get back. One could certainly get spoiled flying around like that. These coordinates take you to the place where I had one of the most exciting steelhead takes in my life. One morning, I was fishing the river at these coordinates around 8am as the sun was rising. I was standing in water a little above my waist. I was using a new Fenwick fly rod that Jimmy Green, the designer of Fenwick rods had just given me. I was making long casts of about 100 feet as I was slowly moving down the river. Below me was a rock ledge that was protruding from the bank, and was just under the water. This created a slight riffle that you can see if you look with the satellite view. Just as the fly was swinging into the riffle there was a very large swirl near my fly but no tug. I waited a few minutes, changed flies and made the cast again. This time, another large swirl and the fish was on. It was a 20+ pound fish that jumped several times. I had it on for over 30 minutes before it came loose. It is a memory I will never forget.
