This cache is part of a new series of mystery caches located along the trail to Moose Pond. The cache is not at the listed location. You will need to solve a fairly simple puzzle to get the actual coordinates for the cache. To solve this puzzle, you need to find the coordinates of a famous fly fishing river that are hidden somewhere on this page. Enter these coordinates in Google Maps or similar map program and look for the name of the River. You will then enter the name of the River, and the full name (no abbreviations) of the state in which it is located into Puzzle-Checker. If the river is not located in the US, enter the country instead of the state. For example, if the river is the Saranac River, your answer is SaranacRiverNewYork (No Spaces). Submit this answer to Puzzle-Checker, and you will receive the actual coordinates for the cache.

The names of rivers in this state are not shown in Google Maps or other mapping programs. This river has the same name as the village at the rivers mouth. Find the village name, add river after it and add the state name for the correct answer.

This river is the best steelhead river I have ever fished. I first fished this river in October of 1974. 2 friends and I were going to float this river, but when we landed on the river in a float plane all the people who were there at the time got on the plane we arrived in and left. We had the river to ourselves. That evening I went out, waded across the river and fished downstream for several hundred yards. In a couple of hours I landed 4 fish. I thought that was amazing. The next morning I went out planning on hiking over a ridge to fish a couple miles down-river from where we were camping and caught another 2 or 3 fish while going to where I was going to start my hike. As I was wading back across the river, I cast my fly into a little eddy behind a small rock and caught a nice trout. I decided to continue fishing down the river to see if I could get any more trout. A few minutes later I cast into a larger eddy and bang, caught a nice steelhead. From that point on, I caught a steelhead almost every cast. I hooked and landed about 50 that afternoon. The next day I started in about the same place and landed over 100. Several were caught on a dry-fly. In the week I was there, I caught well over 250 steelhead. All were caught on a fly I invented while fishing there that is now called Frankie’s Fly. While there I also hooked several silver salmon and uncountable dolly varden trout. You can see a picture of Frankie's Fly in one of the Cache Images.
