This cache is part of a new series of mystery caches located along the trail to Moose Pond. The cache is not at the listed location. You will need to solve a fairly simple puzzle to get the actual coordinates for the cache. To solve this puzzle, you need to find the coordinates of a famous fly fishing river that are hidden somewhere on this page. Enter these coordinates in Google Maps or similar map program and look for the name of the River. You will then enter the name of the River, and the full name (no abbreviations) of the state in which it is located into Puzzle-Checker. If the river is not located in the US, enter the country instead of the state. For example, if the river is the Saranac River, your answer is SaranacRiverNewYork (No Spaces). Submit this answer to Puzzle-Checker, and you will receive the actual coordinates for the cache.
This is a fairly short coastal river that has an amazing Chinook (King) Salmon run. When you open the Google Maps image make sure to click on the satellite view. The marker in the image is on what we call the Line Fence Hole, the hole where the river makes a 90 degree bend in the lower right corner is called the Corner Hole, and the hole on the very right side where my 90 year old father is fishing in the background photo is called The Goose Field. I have had days where I have hooked or landed over 20 salmon in a day. One day we were catching salmon in the surf near the mouth of the river. I have had times fishing on this river when the rain is coming down horizontally with winds up to 80 mph. Weather like that really makes fly casting difficult.
