Draculas Gruft / Dracula's Vault!

„Nicht lange ist es her seit ich meinen letzten Wohnsitz, Carfax Abbey, verlassen musste. Die Mietpreise in England sind so grauselig, dass sie glatt die Hauptrolle in einem Horrorfilm übernehmen könnten. Da bekommt man regelrecht Zahnschmerzen, das kann ich euch sagen! In mein altes Familienschloss in Transsylvanien wollte ich nicht zurückkehren – dort hängen mir viel zu viele Touristen herum, zudem zwei meiner Ex-Gefährtinnen, denen ich die nächsten zweihundert Jahre lieber nicht begegnen möchte, und außerdem ist ein so altes Schloss ebenfalls ganz schön teuer im Unterhalt. Und so fasste ich den Entschluss meinen Sarg zu packen und mit dem nächsten Schiff nach Hamburg zu übersiedeln.
Vom Ohlsdorfer Friedhof hatte ich schon vorher viel gehört und gelesen: die herrliche Parkanlage, die vielen Mausoleen. Gut, auch hier gibt es Touristen, aber die laufen zumindest nicht alle ungefragt in mein Domizil! Nun, das Wetter ist vielleicht nicht immer das Beste in Hamburg, aber durch meine Zeit in England bin ich einiges gewöhnt und auch Transsylvanien kann ganz schön ungemütlich sein. Und für mich kommt es ja nun einmal nicht in Frage mit einem umgebauten VW Bus nach Südspanien abzuhauen. Wieso auch? Das wäre das ein glatter Stilbruch und als Vampir von Welt hat man einen gewissen Stand zu wahren. Immerhin achte ich auch sonst auf einen entsprechenden Style. Wer sonst außer mir sieht so umwerfend gut in einem langen schwarzen Mantel mit hochgestelltem Kragen aus? Nun ja, vielleicht noch Graf Zahl, aber das gehört nicht hierher.
Wo war ich? Ach ja, der Wohnort. Wie gesagt, es wäre ein Stilbruch und zudem wäre ein sonniger Wohnort ohnehin sinnlos, da ich mich ja sowieso nicht zum Entspannen mit einer Bloody Mary an den Strand in die Sonne legen könnte. Denn wie es sich für einen echten Vampir alter Schule gehört, zerfalle ich nämlich bei Sonnenlicht zu Staub und beginne nicht zu funkeln, wie dieser komische Kerl aus diesem Film, dessen Titel mir gerade entfallen ist.
Aber genug davon! Ich freue mich in jedem Fall über euren Besuch in meiner Gruft! Macht es euch bequem, erzählt mir von euch, lasst mir Geschenke hier, wenn ihr mögt, und vor allem: tragt euch gerne in mein Gästebuch ein. Vielleicht komme ich euch dann bald auch einmal besuchen…harharhar…“

"It has not been long since I had to leave my last residence, Carfax Abbey. The rent prices in England are so horrible they could easily star in a horror movie. It's enough to give you a toothache, let me tell you! I didn't want to return to my old family castle in Transylvania - there are far too many tourists hanging around, as well as two of my ex-girlfriends, whom I'd rather not meet in the next two hundred years, and besides, such an old castle is also quite expensive to maintain. And so I made the decision to pack my coffin and move to Hamburg with the next ship.
I had heard and read a lot about the Ohlsdorf cemetery before: the beautiful park, the many mausoleums. Ok, there are tourists here too, but at least they don't all walk into my domicile unasked! Well, the weather is perhaps not always the best in Hamburg, but through my time in England I am used to a lot and Transylvania can also be quite uncomfortable. And for me it is out of the question to travel through southern Spain in a converted VW bus as it seems to be the current trend. And why should I? First of all, that would be just not “vampire style”, and as a sophisticated vampire, you have to maintain a certain status. After all, having a good style is important to me. Who else besides me looks so stunningly good in a long black coat with a high collar? Well, maybe Count von Count, but that doesn't belong here.
Where was I? Ah yes, the place of residence. As I said it would just be bad style, and besides, a sunny place of residence would be pointless since I can't relax on the beach in the sun with a Bloody Mary anyway. Because as it should be for a real “old school” vampire, I crumble to dust in sunlight and don't start to sparkle like that weird guy from that movie whose title just slipped my mind.
But enough of that! I am pleased about your attendance in my crypt! Make yourselves comfortable, tell me about yourselves, leave me presents if you wish to and above all: sign my guestbook. Maybe I will pay you a visit soon...harharhar..."
