Geocache Description:

This virtual cache is on Bourbon st.in the French Quarter. The best time to do this cache is during the day-other wise it is very had to see, and it is hard to get a signal also due to the narrrow street and the three and four story buildings.

In 1970,the property on Bourbon st.was owned by New Orleans Public Service(NOPSI) and was the former site of an electric substation. In 1973 it was donated to the City of New Orleans to be developed as a mini-park.

The park was named after Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor, and the founder and board member of Edison Illuminating Co.of New Orleans, the first company to make incandescent electic lighting available to this city in 1886.

The park, completed in 1976,has become the focus of a group of local musicians and city officals. They are raising money to fix up the long-closed park.

To claim this cache you must e-mail me the names of the men dressed up in bronze in the below pic.

ANY logs without e-mails will be DELETED.

***Note*** After being closed for repairs and my cache being archived for awhile, all the work is finished and the cache is back but with a new look and a new name Musical Legends Park.
