Geocache Description:

PLEASE!!! DO NOT LOG THIS CACHE UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY TRAVELED TO IT AND FOUND IT! THE TERM "VIRTUAL CACHE" DOES NOT MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE TO PHYSICALLY VISIT IN ORDER TO LOG IT!

ANY LOGS THAT DON'T APPEAR GENUINE WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT EXPLANATION. IF YOU'VE RECENTLY HAD A LOG DELETED FROM THIS CACHE, IT IS DUE TO GEOCACHING.COM'S POLICY: "Because of the nature of these geocaches, you must actually visit the location and acquire the coordinates there before you can post."

Easy to get to, but driving back out can be slightly challenging. PLEASE be respectful of the neighbors' property, driveways, etc. Also, please don't visit this cache after dark, out of consideration for the neighbors; you'll be very close to their property and homes.

This little cemetery has been here since 1840, though I imagine most residents of the city aren't even aware of it. I grew up about a mile south of here; my friends and I used to ride our bikes to this "secret hideout" in the early '70's. There were fewer houses around it then. To verify your find, you must e-mail me this: Near the parking area there is a series of tombstones laying flat, the northernmost of which bears the name of a famous person in Shawnee Indian tribal history. A nearby street bears the same name (not coincidentally). Please e-mail me that name. As one cacher noted, if snow or other bad weather have made the streets dangerous, consider visiting this one another day; the streets are narrow, steep, and parking is very tight and limited.
