About Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad Rockaway Beach Stop
Welcome to Rockaway Beach Oregon. This is the northern end of the Oregon Scenic Coast, with normal excursions from Garibaldi. Occasionally the tourist railroad will run excursions north of here. The Port of Tillamook Bay owns the track and right of way. Originally, the Southern Pacific Railroad built the line to link Portland to Tillamook. Rockaway Beach was and is a popular summer destination. Rockaway's original train depot still exists as a vacation rental a little bit north of here. The "Station" here is a simple shelter with the visitors' info center in the caboose. Trains run on weekends during the summer months.
As always do not walk on railroad tracks and look both ways before crossing the rails.
