Geocache Description:

Little Bridges 2647

Upton Lovell

The bridge crosses the River Wylye, which runs from a small village called Norton Ferris, through Warminster to Salisbury.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, the journey or location, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or "copy and paste" logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.

This is one of the three little bridges that myself and KieranVC15 found on a cold January walk. When we visited, there had been a lot of rain recently and many surrounding areas were flooded. We intended on walking to some more little bridges, but those were completely inaccessible due to the floods. You can see from the picture attached, the difference in the water level.

Accessibility

This cache unfortunately is not wheelchair or pushchair accessible, however, my nearby caches A Fine Pair Upton Lovell and Church Micro Heytesbury are Wheelchair accessible. Visiting when I did, worked out well for me. I can now confirm that even if a lot of the area is flooded due to heavy rain, this cache will still be accessible.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here: - https://www.littlebridgesseries.co.uk. If you would like to add to the series, please go to this site, on the tab Get Involved click number request and fill in the form. To qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
