Geocache Description:

Avebury Stone Circle is the largest Stone Circle in the World and many huge stones are in place in this extraordinary place. This webcam cache is in the middle of the Avebury Stone Circle and is easily accessible (wheelchairs possible in dry weather, safe environment for children to run around). Unfortunately the camera, operated by the Tourist Information Service, is not working so a picture of the Stones complete with GPS in the picture is a permitted substitute.

This webcam cache is in the centre of Avebury, overlooking the Stones. The Stone circle was constructed around 2600BC, is about 427 meters in diameter and is designated a world heritage site. There is more information at this web site.

Here is a picture of some of the the Avebury Stones, the webcam is mounted to the right of the old chapel in the background.
