First cache in Lower Austrias Thermenregion (thermal spring area)
As the accuracy was extremely poor (58 m and permanently changing!) due to covering by trees and the position on the flank of a narrow valley, please take the coordinates for not more than an indication. Should you get notably better accuracy on the occasion of your visit, please indicate the coordinates and the given accuracy in the logbook as wells as in your log. In the map "ÖK 1:50.000" the coordinates are
given with N 48°01.488 / E 016°14.072.
The cache consists of a cylindrical coffee tin wrapped in a white bag and initially contained:
- logbook and pencil (pls. do not remove)
- jew's harp
- sponge
- bottle of Underberg
- cable clamp
- small candle
- box of matches
and last but not least
- Vienna dog identifier (=Hundemarke) marked
"1961 Wien 26834"
Please take the dog identifier as a travel bug and let it travel as a dedication to the first of my dogs, the badger-dog Terry.
