Welcome to Marion County West Virginia, the middle of everywhere! The 'Murals of Marion County' geocaching trail is designed to showcase the history and heritage of the area in a unique and exciting way. Nine Letterbox Hybrid geocaches will be placed around the county for you to discover; each showcases a specific mural and then provides instructions on locating the final. After completing all nine geocaches on the tour and exploring everything Marion County has to offer, stop by our visitor center (GC9CY1G) to claim a FREE custom coin, trackable at geocaching.com! More information including a full list of caches and the playing card is available here: https://marioncvb.com/murals.
MMC #9: Open Happiness
Marion County is a pretty happy place, and with so many cool adventures, how could you not want to explore? This is one of two caches outside the Fairmont limits that will take you to some of the more rural parts of the county to showcase that art is thriving here as well. Parking for the first stage of this geocache can be tricky, so we suggest parking in one of the large parking lots within sight of the mural and walking closer if needed.
SOLVE THE PUZZLE
Using the mural, please answer the following questions to obtain the three-digit lock combination (XYZ) for the final container.
XY = How many letters are on the mural?
Z = How many people are pictured on the mural?
FIND THE CACHE
After answering the above questions, use the clues below to locate the final container.
With your back to the mural, return to the parking coordinates (waypoint). This should be a quick find on the back side of the Papa Joe's sign.
