PUTOVÁNÍ ZA SANTINIM

Jan Blažej Santini Aichel. Význačný český barokní architekt italského původu, který se proslavil svým jedinečným stylem nazývaným barokní gotika.

Narodil se v Praze 3. února 1677, do třetí generace rodiny váženého italského kameníka Santina Aichela, a byl pokřtěný v chrámu svatého Víta. Protože přišel na svět tělesně postižený, nemohl převzít řemeslo svého otce. Pro nadaného syna však rodiče našli jinou cestu. Vyučil se u francouzského architekta Jeana-Baptisty Matheye a po vyučení se vydal na zkušenou do Rakouska a Itálie, kde načerpal inspiraci od nejvýznamnějších architektů tehdejší doby.

Santiniho produktivní období života se datuje od prvních samostatných prací roku 1700 až do jeho smrti v roce 1723. Za necelé čtvrtstoletí vytvořil a vyprojektoval zhruba osmdesát staveb, od obyčejných hospodářských, přes palácové, až po rozlehlé klášterní areály a zámky.

Jeho prvním významným projektem po návratu do Čech byla přestavba Zbraslavského kláštera, krátce poté se ujal přestavby klášterního kostela Nanebevzetí Panny Marie a svatého Jana Křtitele v Sedlci u Kutné Hory a následovaly další a další projekty. V závěru svého tvůrčího života pracoval současně na osmi velkých stavbách po celém území Čech a Moravy. Od Rajhradu a Křtin na východní Moravě až po Kladruby na západu Čech.

Od počátku vycházel ze stylu geniálního italského architekta Francesca Borrominiho, ale sám ho obohacoval o originální myšlenky a vlastní symboliku. Inspiroval se v častém používání netradičních půdorysů a do většiny staveb vepsal řadu matematických a náboženských symbolů.

Santini zemřel v pouhých 46 letech, ale zanechal nám dědictví nesmírného významu. Dvě z jeho nejvýznačnějších staveb - poutní kostel na Zelené hoře ve Žďáře nad Sázavou a kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie a svatého Jana Křtitele v Sedlci u Kutné hory - byly zařazeny na seznam světového dědictví UNESCO. V samotném Žďáře nad Sázavou pracoval Santini pro tamní cisterciácký klášter celých sedmnáct let, a tak právě zde najdeme rozsáhlou galerii jeho díla.

Cílem seriálu akcí "Putování za Santinim" je přiblížit dílo Jana Blažeje Santini Aichla geocachingové veřejnosti, při příležitosti 300. výročí jeho úmrtí v roce 2023. Za podpory Spolku Putování za Santinim jsme pro vás připravili 12 eventů na místech významných Santiniho staveb po celé České republice s komentovanými prohlídkami. Vrcholem vzpomínkového seriálu je však tento megaevent v „hlavním“ městě této mimořádné osobnosti.

FOLLOWING SANTINI

Jan Blažej Santini Aichel. A great Czech Baroque architect of Italian descent who became famous for his unique style called Baroque Gothic.

He was born in Prague on 3 February in 1677, into the third generation of the family of a respected Italian stonemason Santini Aichel. He was baptised in St. Vitus Cathedral. Born physically disabled, he could not continue his father´s business. However, Santini´s parents found for their gifted son another career. He learnt at the French architect Jean-Baptiste Mathey and after having finished the apprenticeship he went to Austria and Italy to gain some experience. Here, he drew inspiration from the most significant architects of that time.

Santini´s productive period of his life might be dated from the first independent works of art in 1700 till his death in 1723. He created and designed roughly eighty buildings within almost twenty-five years, from common farm building, over palace to vast monastic premises and chateaux.

His first significant project after his return to Bohemia was rebuilding the Zbraslav Monastery. Shortly after that he began rebuilding the Monastery Church of the Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist in Sedlec near Kutná Hora. Further and further projects followed. When his productive life was coming to the end, Santini was working on eight large buildings all over the Bohemian and Moravian area at the same time. From Rajhrad and Křtiny in eastern Moravia to Kladruby in western Bohemia.

Since he started, Santini was inspired by the style of the brilliant Italian architect Francesco Borromini, however, Santini himself enriched this style with original ideas and his own symbolism. His inspiration resulted in frequent usage of unusual ground plans and he inscribed a lot of mathematical and religious symbols in most of his buildings.

Santini died early - at the age of 46 years. However, he left a legacy of immense significance. Two of his most outstanding buildings – the Pilgrimage Church of St. Jan of Nepomuk on Zelená Hora in Žďár nad Sázavou and the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist in Sedlec near Kutná Hora – were put on the World Heritage List UNESCO. Santini worked in Žďár nad Sázavou for the local Cistercian Monastery for 17 years and thats why we can find a large gallery of his work there.

The aim of the series of events “Following Santini” is to provide the geocaching public with an idea of Jan Blažej Santini Aichel´s work – on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of his death in 2023. With the support of the Association Putování za Santinim (Following Santini), we have prepared for you twelve events in the places of Santini´s great buildings all over the Czech Republic with commented guided tours. The highlight of the memorial series is this mega event in the main town of this extraordinary personality.

FOLGEN SANTINI

Jan Blažej Santini Aichel – auf Deutsch ist er unter dem Namen Johann Blasius Santini Aichel bekannt. Ein bedeutender tschechischer Barockarchitekt italienischer Herkunft, der durch seinen einzigartigen Baustil – die Barockgotik – berühmt wurde.

Er wurde in Prag am 3. Februar 1677 geboren, in die dritte Generation der Familie des angesehenen italienischen Steinmetzes Santini-Aichel. Er wurde im St. Veits Dom getauft. Weil er zu dieser Welt körperlich behindert kam, konnte er das Handwerk seines Vaters nicht übernehmen. Doch seine Eltern fanden für ihren begabten Sohn einen anderen Weg. Er lernte bei dem französischen Architekten Jean-Baptist Mathey und nach dem Abschluss ging er nach Österreich und Italien auf die Wanderschaft, wo er sich von den bedeutendsten Architekten der damaligen Zeit inspirieren ließ.

Santinis produktiver Lebenszeitraum wird seit den ersten selbständigen Werken im Jahre 1700 bis zu seinem Tod im Jahre 1723 datiert. Während des nicht ganzen Vierteljahrhunderts schuf und entwarf er ungefähr achtzig Bauten, von üblichen Wirtschatsgebäuden, über Paläste, bis zu ausgedehnten Klosterareale und Schlösser.

Sein erstes bedeutendes Projekt nach der Rückkehr in Böhmen war der Umbau des Klosters in Zbraslav, kurz darauf fing er mit dem Umbau der Klosterkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt und St.-Jacobs-Kirche in Sedlec bei Kutná Hora an, und weitere und weitere Projekte folgten. Als sich sein schöpferisches Leben zu Ende näherte, arbeitete Santini-Aichel an acht großen Bauten in dem ganzen Gebiet Böhmens und Mährens. Von Rajhrad und Křtiny in Ostmähren bis zu Kladruby in Westböhmen.

Von Anfang an ging er aus dem Stil des genialen italienischen Architekten Francesco Borromini aus, aber Santini-Aichel selbst bereicherte diesen Still mit originellen Ideen und seine eigen Symbolik. Er ließ sich durch den häufigen Gebrauch von nicht traditionellen Grundrissen inspirieren und er trug in meisten Bauten eine Reihe von mathematischen und religiösen Symbolen ein.

Santini-Aichel starb im Alter von nur 46 Jahren, aber er hinterließ ein Erbe von ungeheurer Bedeutung. Zwei von seinen bedeutendsten Bauten – die Wallfahrtskirche des hl. Johannes von Nepomuk auf Zelená Hora in Žďár nad Sázavou und die Klosterkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt und St.-Jacobs-Kirche in Sedlec bei Kutná Hora – wurden in die Liste des Welterbes UNESCO eingetragen. In der Stadt Žďár nad Sázavou arbeitete Santini für das dortige Zisterzienserkloster 17 Jahre lang, und gerade hier findet man eine umfangreiche Galerie seines Werkes.

Das Ziel der Reihe der Veranstaltungen „Wandern auf Santinis Spuren“ ist das Werk von Johann Blasius Santini-Aichel der Geocachingöffentlichkeit bei der Gelegenheit des 300. Gedenktages seines Todes im Jahre 2023 nahezubringen. Mit der Unterstützung des Vereines Wandern auf Santinis Spuren haben wir für Sie 12 Events auf den Plätzen der bedeutenden Santitis Bauten in der ganzen Tschechischen Republik mit kommentierten Besichtigungen vorbereitet. Der Höhepunkt der Erinnerungsreihe ist dieses Megaevent in der „Hauptstadt“ dieser außerordentlichen Persönlichkeit.
