WHAT: Fredericton Summer 2022 Geofest
WHEN: Saturday July 30, 2022
Timings: Noon – 1600 hours - Complete Your Passports
1400 – 1600 hours – Return Completed Passports for a 2021 Coin
1600 hours – Group Photo around City Hall Fountain
** Just to be clear, there are no new caches. This is a repeat event for those who were reluctant to geocache or travel during the Pandemic.**
If you plan on being in the Fredericton area for New Brunswick Day weekend 2022 then be sure to take in this Event which is a repeat of the 2021 Fredericton Summer Geofest. Your host for this event, Capital Region Association of Geocachers (CRAG), has been asked to remind folks that there are still coins left over from last year’s successful event. Someone didn’t calculate the number of coins that would be claimed by folks spending the day exploring the beauty & history of the Provincial Capital! This event will require you to find the four Adventure Labs in Fredericton (Historic Sites of Fredericton by Samarito, Fredericton’s Railway Heritage by Friendly Forager, Fredericton Hidden Gems by ranger170, and Fredericton Craft Breweries by ranger170). Each of these Adventure Labs has a Bonus Cache. So the Task is challenging. Find all four Bonus Caches which will have an orange punch. Punch your passport to earn your commemorative Geocoin limited to 87 cachers. Bring your completed passports to the Event location to receive your coin! Be smart & make this a Two-fer Weekend!!
Fredericton Tourism has been a strong supporter of Geocaching as one of Canada’s Top Smart Cities; it has featured the Fredericton Geocaching Tour (FGT) since September 2011, partnered with ranger170 & the FriendsofNB104th to bring the March of NB 104th series to life! And now in celebration of the New Brunswick Day Celebrations & to recognize Emancipation Day as well as the Launch of Atlantic Canada Hidden Histories (GC9WETG) Anniversary of Geocaching & the 10th Anniversary of the FGT, we bring you another geocaching spectacular event. Fredericton is full of fun things to do; the NB Highland Games, The Harvest Music Festival and other cultural events, come see Fredericton and take a selfie on the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge!

Cet été, la ville de Fredericton et l'Association des géocacheurs de la région de la capitale (ARCG) sont heureuses de vous présenter un événement de géocachette d'été pour aider à célébrer la fin de semaine de la fête du Nouveau-Brunswick et la célébration du jour de l'émancipation! Cet événement vous obligera à trouver les quatre laboratoires d'aventure à Fredericton (Historic Sites of Fredericton par Samarito, Fredericton's Railway Heritage par Friendly Forager, Fredericton Hidden Gems par ranger170 et Fredericton Craft Breweries par ranger170). Chacun de ces laboratoires d'aventure a un cache bonus existant. La tâche est donc difficile. Le samedi 30 juillet 2022, allez trouver les quatre caches bonus qui auront un poinçon orange. Poinçonnez votre passeport pour gagner votre Geocoin commémoratif limité à 87 géocacheurs. Il s'agit d'une répétition du Geofest de l'été 2021 et il n'y a pas de nouvelles caches, donc si COVID vous a retenu, voici une autre opportunité de gagner un merveilleux médaillon de l'événement.
