Geocache Description:

Number 1684 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box. The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

This is the first of the Fine Pair series of caches to be located in the United States!

The Fine Pair are located on private property just off the pedestrian/biking trail along Zionsville Road. You will have an excellent view of them from the cache location across the street near the cemetery. There is access to the cemetery from Zionsville Road and parking. Cemetery is closed after dark so no night caching.

What is a K6 phone box?

The K6 (short for Kiosk No. 6) was designed in 1935 by British designer and architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Although it is the most famous phone box design to date, this was actually the sixth version of the phone box to hit UK’s streets (hence its name!).

What do the GR initials on the post box stand for?

A GR post box was put up during the era of King George V (G stands for George, R stands for Rex, which is King in Latin) during the years between 1910-1936.

The A Fine Pair series is managed by mattd2k. If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do.
