Tālu, tālu jūrā ūdens ir tik zils kā visskaistākās rudzupuķes ziedlapiņas un tik skaidrs kā vistīrākais stikls. Lai gan ļoti dziļš, nemaz jau nav jādomā, ka tur lejā ir kailas, baltas smiltis vien. Nē, tur aug visbrīnišķīgākie koki un augi, kuru kāti un lapas ir tik lokani, ka, ūdenim tikai mazliet salīgojoties tie kustas kā dzīvi. Visas zivis, lielas un mazas, šaujas caur zariem, tāpat kā putni šeit gaisā. Visdziļākajā vietā stāv jūras pils, sienas tai ir no koraļļiem un augstie, smailie logi no visskaidrākā dzintara, bet jumts ir no gliemežu vākiem. Tas izskatās skaisti, jo katrā vākā guļ mirdzošas pērles, no kurām viena vienīga būtu lielākais greznums šeit krastā.
Jūras pilī mīt trīs daiverītes, daiļas jo daiļas. Viņu āda ir tik gaiša un caurspīdīga kā rozes ziedlapiņas, acis tik zilas kā dziļākā jūra, un kājās plezniņas - jo īpaši skaistā rozā krāsā. Visu garo dienu daiverītes rotaļājas pils lielajās zālēs, kur gar sienām aug dzīvas puķes. Tiek atvērti lielie dzintara logi, pa kuriem peld iekšā zivis, tāpat kā pie mums pa atvērtiem logiem ielaižas bezdelīgas. Bet zivis peld daiverītēm droši klāt un ēd viņām no rokas, ļaudamas arī papliķēt sev pa muguru.
Daiverītēm dienas rit jauki, bet nedaudz vienmuļi – katru dienu apģērbšanās, noģērbšanās, skaistu peldkostīmu valkāšana. Vien pa retai reizei kāda tālpeldētāja zivs padalās ar stāstiem par kādām tālām un neparastām vietām. Visbrīnumainākie stāsti viņām liekas tie par jūrām, kur puķes smaržojot, kur meži esot zaļi, un zivis, kas redzamas zaros, dziedot tik skaļi un daiļi, ka prieks klausīties. Tās viņas visvairāk ilgojas redzēt, un varbūt kādreiz kāda no tām apciemos arī viņu jūras pili? Pils atrodas tālu, un tikai retais uz turieni zina ceļu, bet ja viņas pašas paaicinātu?
Un tā daiverītes uzrakstīja daudzus jo daudzus vēstījumus, kuri varētu rādīt ceļu uz viņu pili, un nosūtīja tos ar jūras zirdziņiem pat uz pašām visattālākajām jūrām. Far out in the sea the water is as blue as the petals of the loveliest of cornflowers and as clear as the clearest glass. Although very deep, we must not imagine that there is nothing at the bottom of the sea but bare yellow sand. No, indeed, the most singular flowers and plants grow there; the leaves and stems of which are so pliant, that the slightest agitation of the water causes them to stir as if they had life. All the fish, big and little, flit among the branches, like the birds in the air up here. In the deepest place of all lies the palace of the sea. Its walls are built of coral and the tall pointed windows are of the clearest amber. The roof is formed of shells that open and close as the water flows over them. It all looks beautiful, for in every one of them lie shining pearls, a single one of which would be fit for the diadem of a queen.
In the palace dwell three little diver girls, the most fair and beautiful. Their skin is as bright and pure as a rose-leaf, their eyes as blue as the deepest sea, and the fins on their feet – in a supremely nice pink colour. All day long they play in the great halls of the palace, where live flowers grow out of the walls. The large amber windows are opened, and the fish are swimming in, just as the swallows fly into our houses when we open the windows. But the fish swim right up to the little diver girls and feed out of their hands and allow themselves to be stroked.
The days for the diver girls go by nicely, but a little quietly – every day dressing, undressing, wearing exciting swimming suits. Only at times a casual long-haul traveling fish shares some stories about distant and unusual places. To them it was most wonderful and delightful to hear the tales about the seas where flowers smelt sweet, where the woods were green and the fish which one saw among the branches could sing so loud and prettily that it was a joy to hear them. These fish they were so full of longing to see, maybe sometime some of them will visit their sea palace? The palace is far away, and only a few know the road to it, but if they will invite them over by themselves?
And so, the little diver girls wrote ever so many messages, which could help to show the way to their palace, and sent them with seahorses to the most distant of seas. Some of those messages have reached also the Sloka's quarry, three of them have been spotted nearby the popular sightseeing locations of the quarry S1, S2 and S3.
