Netherseal - St Peter
This church is a Grade II* listed building which dates from the 13th Century; the tower was added in the 15th Century. It was rebuilt in 1874 under the direction of the architect Arthur Blomfield.
The church is now part of a united benefice with 7 other churches in the area.
One the most famous sons of the area is Sir Nigel Gresley - he spent his childhood in the rectory (see the FYI GC9RK48) and he is buried in the churchyard extension.
The previous church micro here has been archived and another cache has popped up near its original hiding place so this one is a little further away. To find it walk up the steps nearly opposite the plaque commemorating Sir Nigel Gresley where you will find some information on MBH. The information is located just inside the churchyard and is visible from the path.
What year did MBH die? ABCD
What day of the month did MBH die? This is E
How old in years was MBH at death (ignore the months)? This is F
The cache can be found at N52 42.BDF W001 33.(E-F)(D-A)B
The checksum of the missing digits in the final co-ordinates is 32.
The cache is a short drive away, please take care at the final location with geokids and geopets as traffic can be quite busy. For this reason and due to properties near the churchyard it's recommended to attempt this cache during daylight hours.
