Geocache Description:

There is a free car park adjacent to a supermarket car park at waypoint N50 42.806   W003 29.899

This slightly unusual curved bridge, with concreted ford adjacent to it, has been re-built in recent times. It provides a means for walkers to go from the major part of Ludwell Country Park over the Northbrook stream (Panny in local dialect!) to Ludwell playing fields and beyond.  The meaning of the name Panny has been long disputed, but the major consensus is that it comes from Indian soldiers billeted at the nearby army barracks during the first World War, as the Hindu word for water is paani.  The major access to this bridge is via the Exeter Green Circle footpath, which runs alongside in Ludwell Playing fields.

In order to determine the coordinates, the letters in the questions below must be converted to numbers and arithmetic used in the equations to define the coordinates.  The answers can all be obtained on the bridge

Q1          How many letters are there in the upper of two words on the R.H.S. board ?           A =

Q2          How many cylindrical metal bars are on one complete side of the bridge?                B =

Q3          The number of metal sections on the floor of the bridge is next?                                C =

Q4          How many 'Run in England' signs are there on the bridge?                                            D =

Q5          How many sections are there in one wing of the bat?                                                     E =

Q6          How many legs does the largest lobster have on the sea creatures panel?                  F =

Q7          How many sections are there on the left (North) wooden handrail?                             G =

The checksum for the letters A to G is 42

The cache can be found at           N50 (D + E)(A G).G(E D)(C (D +G))

                                                          W003 (G E)(E + F).(B F)(C + D)(C D E)

Wheelchair users may easily access the bridge but would need considerable manual help to get to the vicinity of the cache.
