New Date for the Gathering
January 24 thru January 27.
The Annual gathering of RV geocachers and friends on BLM land in Quartszite is here again! This makes #13 in Quartzsite and over the years we have grown in fun and caching experiences.
This year we will be meeting at a different area. It will be off Plomosa Road, about 5 miles north of Quartzsite on Hwy 95. We will also be camping alongside of the SKPBoomers, but there is plenty of space for everyone. Be respectful of others already set-up. This year will also be a casual meeting, with fluid events throughout the week. Each morning will enable caching with groups or solo trips. We can schedule group discussions if needed.
4 wheel drive vehicles are not required but the site is primitive. There are no services except that which you tow in yourself. Feel free to pitch a tent or sleep in your car if that suits you. No RV is required to attend. This is an annual event of the SKP GeoCachers, a group of RV'ers from all over the country who welcome anyone who would like to join us for the week. The 4 day long rally starts on January 24 and will conclude on January 27. We have set aside Wednesday January 26 as an "open/logable" event for those who would like to join us for one day.
This year the schedule will be different due to the year's calendar. The Yuma events are moved up a week because of the football schedule, so everything is a week earlier.
We start at 9am (be sure to bring a chair). We will start to wrap the day up with happy hour starting at 4pm (bring your own beverage but no snacks to share) and the event "officially" comes to an end at 6pm, but you are welcome to stay as long as you like. We have been known to go for hours after that tho sitting around the campfire sharing stories of our caching adventures. Join us with or without your RV for a day of meet and greet . Meet some GREAT people and just go with the flow!
