Krampus Day 2021!
Krampus is a horned figure that punishes ill behaved children. In Europe he is considered a companion to St. Nicholas. In the Geocaching world he punishes cache owners who put micros in rock piles and nanos in the woods, by increasing their DNF's.
Location: Cold Creek Park, Cottage Lake
at the picnic shelter.
Date: Sunday December 5th, 2021
Time: 1pm - 3pm
ACTIVITIES:
Food & beverage: We will be bringing hot tea, hot cocoa, hot apple cider, and drinking water. Of course we'll have cups, bowls, plates and silverware. Please bring some kind of baked goods to share, cookies, pastry ect bake at home, or buy at the store it's all good!
Raffle: We will have a raffle for a limited number of items, geocaching and outdoor related.
Gift Exchange: We are going to hold a Krampus day geocaching gift exchange. Bring one wrapped gift (worth about $10) to exchange for each person in your party that wants to receive one. Gifts good for the geocaching lifestyle would be great. Just like in past exchanges we'll draw for the gifts.
Caching: There are lots of caches in the Woodinville and Duvall areas, as well as a few in the Cottage Lake area. There are 4 caches in the park, 3 on a short walking path and one right in the parking lot of the event.
Where to find us: We are going to be at picnic shelter inside the park. There is only one parking lot and the shelter at the end of the the parking lot. When you arrive at the coordinates the location will be obvious, plus we'll have the banners out, to help guide you in. There are a few picnic tables in the shelter, but if you have a favorite chair it might not hurt to bring it a long.
Heat / weather: This time of year it's likely to be cold, but we will bring along a couple of heaters that we'll run in the shelter. In addition will have the firepit with us to help keep us warm and it could potentially be used to roast something over it. If you do want to roast something you will need to bring whatever that is.
