Kādreizējā Līgatnes papīrfabrika ir uzskatāma par vienu no Latvijas Industriālā mantojuma ikonām. Tepat arī noslēpumainās alas smilšakmens sienās un kādreiz fabrikas darbinieku labsajūtai iekārtotais parks. Tā saucamajās Anfabrikas klinšu alās mēs esam liecinieki cilvēka izdomai, kur tās izmantotas kā noliktavas un pagrabi vietējo iedzīvotāju vajadzībām. Kādreiz cariskajā Krievijā godalgotajā papīrfabrikā ražoja augstākās kvalitātes produkciju, saņemot atļauju likt uz papīra cara zīmogu, kas ļāva to izmantot arī valsts oficiālo dokumentu ražošanā. Papīrfabrika ir piedzīvojusi daudzas pārmaiņas, degusi, tikusi izvesta uz Krieviju, Latvijas pirmās brīvvalsts laikā par valsts naudu un iedzīvotāju ziedojumiem atjaunota. Tad atguvusi slavu, un 30. gados ražojusi jau 100 dažādu veidu papīru. Izrādās, ka pie Anfabrikas klintīm ir notikusi leģendārās 1985. gadā veidotās mākslas filmas «Sprīdītis» uzņemšana. Te tika filmēta epizode, kurā princese Zeltīte pārliecina raganu iesaistīties afērā pret Sprīdīti un ragana veic izteiksmīgu buršanās rituālu.

Description of the place: Before Līgatne, the Forest Trail rises up along the slope of the Gauja Valley, landing again in the deep ravine of the Līgatne River next to which there is the village of the former Līgatne Paper Mill.
The former Līgatne Paper Mill is considered to be one of the icons of the industrial heritage of Latvia. Here we also find mysterious caves in the sandstone walls, and the park once designed for the well-being of factory workers. In the so-called Anfabrika rock caves, we see traces of human inventiveness: the local population have used the caves as warehouses and basements. The once tsarist Russia-awarded paper mill manufactured the highest quality produce, and was allowed to put the tsar’s stamp on its paper, which also allowed it to be used for the drawing of official documents of the state. The paper mill has experienced many changes, it has been burnt, exported to Russia, then restored during the first independence period of Latvia on public funding and donations from residents. It regained its fame, and in 1930s was already producing 100 different types of paper. The Anfabrika rocks has served as a site for shoting the legendary art film “Sprīdītis” made in 1985. An episode was filmed here in which Princess Zeltīte persuaded the witch to prevent Sprīdītis from becoming her potential husband and the witch performed an expressive ritual of witchcraft.

The geocache is part of the “FOREST TRAIL” series of geocaches. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which runs through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In the northern part of the Forest Trail created with the financial support of the Transborder Cooperation Programme for 2014–2020 of the European Regional Development Fund for the Central Baltic Sea Region 45 geocaches have been deployed between the Old Riga and the Estonian border.
