Vietas apraksts: Šķietami necilais avots atrodas apdzīvotā vietā, ko dēvē par Krustiņiem. Nosaukums „Krustiņi” veidojies vismaz pirms 100 gadiem, pateicoties vietējo un svarīgu valsts nozīmes ceļu krustojumam (krustcelēm), kas dod iespēju no šejienes doties dažādos virzienos. Vienlaikus šī vieta vēl nesenā pagātnē dēvēta arī par „Sēnītes rajonu”. Krustiņos vēl šodien apskatāmas atsevišķas pagājušā gadsimta sākumā celtas vasarnīcas, kuras, pateicoties dziedinošajam priežu meža gaisam, par dzīves un atpūtas vietu izvēlējās Latvijas mākslinieki un sabiedrībā populāri cilvēki. Savulaik populārais žurnāls „Atpūta” tā arī rakstīja: „Ja citur zelts ir zemē, tad Inčukalnā gaisā.” Laika posmā pēc Pirmā pasaules kara te sāka apmesties populāri mākslinieki un izveidojās tāda kā „Inčukalna mākslinieku kolonija”, kuru dēvēja arī par Latvijas Holivudu. Šeit dzīvoja aktieri Alfrēds Amtmanis-Briedītis un Anta Klints „Sūrmīšos”, Ludmila Špilberga un Jānis Simsons „Simsonos”, Jūlija Skaidrīte, Lilija Ērika, Ella Jākabsone „Saulstariņos”, operas soliste Milda Brehmane-Štengele, komponists un diriģents Burhards Sosārs, kuram piederēja pat vietējais veikals, kā arī amata brāļi Jānis Ozoliņš „Ozoliņos” un Ralfs Alunāns „Alunānos”. Aizstaigā līdz avotam, padzeries un papildini savu ūdens pudeli tālākam ceļam! Mežtaka tālāk ved uz Murjāņi–Valmiera autoceļu, kura malā atrodas atpūtas parks „Rāmkalni”.

Mežtaka ir Eiropas garās distances pārgājienu maršruta E11 daļa Baltijas valstīs, kas ved cauri Latvijas, Lietuvas un Igaunijas skaistākajiem mežiem un nacionālajiem parkiem. Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmā no Vecrīgas līdz Igaunijas robežai, kurš izstrādāts ar Eiropas Reģionālās attīstības fonda Centrālā Baltijas jūras reģiona pārrobežu sadarbības programmas 2014.–2020. gadam finansiālu atbalstu, izvietoti 45 slēpņi. Iesakām apvienot slēpņu meklēšanu ar pastaigu pa kādu no 15 ainaviskajiem Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmiem.

Description of the place: The seemingly humble spring can be found in a populated area called Krustiņi. The placename “Krustiņi” appeared at least 100 years ago, thanks to the intersection of local and important national routes (crossroads), enabling a change of direction here. At the same time, the site was also known as the “Sēnīte District” in the recent past. The settlement features several cottages from the beginning of the previous century, which, thanks to the healing pine forest air, were chosen by Latvian artists and people popular in society as a place of residence and recreation. In the past, the popular journal “Atpūta” read, “If elsewhere there's gold in the ground, then in Inčukalns it is in the air.” During the period after the First World War, popular artists began to settle here and formed a sort of “Inčukalns artists’colony”, also known as Latvian Hollywood. Here were actors Alfrēds Amtmanis-Briedītis and Anta Klints in “Surmīši” homestead, Ludmila Špīlberga and Jānis Simsons in “Simsoni”, Jūlija Skaidrīte, Lilija Ērika, Erica, Ella Jākabsone “Saulstariņi,” opera soloist Milda Brehmane-Štengele, composer and conductor Burhards Sosārs, who even owned the local shop, as well as his colleagues Jānis Ozoliņš in “Ozoliņi” and Ralfs Alunāns in “Alunāni.” Go to the spring, drink and fill your water bottle for your further trip. The Forest Trail will further lead you to Murjāņi-Valmiera Road, on the side of which there is the Rāmkalni recreation park.
Description of the geocache: The geocache is a dark PET bottle, it contains a guestbook and pencil. Please tightly close the geocache and return it to the original location.
The geocache is part of the “Mežtaka” series of geocaches. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which runs through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In the northern part of the Forest Trail created with the financial support of the Transborder Cooperation Programme for 2014–2020 of the European Regional Development Fund for the Central Baltic Sea Region 45 geocaches have been deployed between the Old Riga and the Estonian border. We recommend combining the geocache search with a walk through one of the 15 landscape sections of the northern part of Northern part of the Forest Trail.
