What better way to relax, after a weekend in the ONF, than a serene paddle at Silver Springs?
***Note: The coordinates on this cache page got screwed up by a feral Riffster. Sorry for the confusion. BoJaB fixed it.***
Many kayakers feel that Silver Springs is the best paddle trip in the state of Florida, and I don't think they are wrong. Not only do you have 5 miles of absolutely gorgeous waters, and scenery, you also get manatees, monkeys, and alligators! Whoo Hoo!!Â
We will gather at Silver Springs State Park, near the kayak launch, for schmoozing, and boat hauling, at 10:00am.
Meet at N 29° 12.795', W 82° 03.331'
We will hopefully launch our boats, at 10:30am.
We like a nice, slow, relaxing paddle, so plan on getting to the takeout at Ray Wayside Park, around 2:00pm.
Takeout at N 29* 12.838 W 081* 59.529
We will be running a shuttle, to bring folks from the takeout, back to Silver Springs.
If you plan on leaving your car at Ray Wayside, there's a $5 parking fee.
Launching at Silver Springs runs about $6.
Hope to see you there!
