Mežtakas gājējam šie meži ir īstā vieta, kur atvilkt elpu, paņemt binokli un, ja paveicas, ieraudzīt putnus, kuru Gaujmalas pļavās ir ne mazums. Iespējams, Tev izdodas saskatīt zivju dzenīti! Vērojot putnus, atceries, ka svarīgākās ir “putnu intereses”, tādēļ maksimāli izvairies no putnu ierastā dzīvesveida un dzīvesvietas traucējuma! Aprīlis un maija sākums tradicionāli ir laiks, kad mājās atgriežas "atpūtnieki" no siltajām zemēm, bet maija otrā puse un jūnijs ir putnu ligzdošanas laiks, kad novērojama arī lielākā dziedāšanas aktivitāte. Slēpņa apraksts: Slēpnis ir ābola izmēra konteiners un atrodas 1,6 m augstumā, tajā iekšā ir viesu grāmata un zīmulis. Lūgums slēpni rūpīgi aizvērt un nolikt atpakaļ precīzā atrašanas vietā.
Slēpnis ir daļa no slēpņu sērijas „MEŽTAKA”. Mežtaka ir Eiropas garās distances pārgājienu maršruta E11 daļa Baltijas valstīs, kas ved cauri Latvijas, Lietuvas un Igaunijas skaistākajiem mežiem un nacionālajiem parkiem. Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmā no Vecrīgas līdz Igaunijas robežai, kurš izstrādāts ar Eiropas Reģionālās attīstības fonda Centrālā Baltijas jūras reģiona pārrobežu sadarbības programmas 2014.–2020. gadam finansiālu atbalstu, izvietoti 45 slēpņi. Iesakām apvienot slēpņu meklēšanu ar pastaigu pa kādu no 15 ainaviskajiem Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmiem.

Description of the place: In the forests around the Sietiņiezis Rock you can spot the hazel grouse, various species of woodpeckers, including the rare three-toed woodpecker, and the red-breasted flycatcher. The Gauja National Park is also popular with grey wagtails, corn crakes, warblers, white-throated dippers, Ural owls, pygmy owls, and kingfishers. For the Forest Trail hiker, these forests are the right place to catch your breath, take a pair of binoculars and, if you are lucky, catch a glimpse of the birds that abound in the meadows of Gaujmala. Maybe you can spot a kingfisher! When birdwatching, remember that the "best interests of the birds" are paramount, so avoid disturbing them and their habitats as much as possible! April and early May is traditionally the time when "holidaymakers" return home from warmer climes, while the second half of May and June is nesting time, when you can hear birds singing more than usual. The cache is a part of the “The Forest Trail” cache series. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which leads through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The project, which has been developed with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020, includes 45 cache places in the northern part of the Forest Trail from Old Riga to the Estonian border. We recommend combining cache hunting with a walk along one of the 15 scenic sections of the northern part of the Forest Trail.
