Geocache Description:


Harrington War Memorial is located within the grounds of St.Mary’s Church. The grounds are split in two by the main road. You will need to visit to both halves to find the required information. The information will be found on four Commonwealth War Graves (CWG) and the memorial itself.

E: On the memorial itself, the number of letters in Gladys’s surname + the number of surnames beginning with ‘U’  = E

A: Pass through the two stone seats to the rear of the memorial. Ahead on the left is a CWG, Gunner T.J. The  3rd digit of service number = A.

F: Ahead up the slope towards the corner are two more CWG’s. One of these unusually has two names on. Use the lower name, Sgt J.B. The 6th

D: On the same stone, the upper name, Cpl R.C.F. The 1st digit of service number =  D

C: Return passed the memorial, cross the road carefully, and enter the second part of the grounds. Almost as soon as you enter the grounds, on the left backed against the wall, is another CWG. Gunner J.  4th digit of service number = C.

B: Return to the path and follow it down to a bridge over a stream. Continue up the path to another area of graves. Find the CWG. Aircraftman 1st Class A.  The 3rd digit of service number = B

The final will be found at N54° 36.ABC’  W03° 33.DEF’
