Iesakām apvienot slēpņu meklēšanu ar pastaigu pa kādu no 15 ainaviskajiem Mežtakas Ziemeļu daļas posmiem.

Description of the place: The section of the Forest Trail from Līgatne to Cēsis winds through the forests of the Gauja National Park which are rich in values of nature and are specially protected. There are both steep-slope and ravine forests, and old or natural boreal forests, also called coniferous forests typical of the north, which are important for cavity-nesting birds. A part of the trail runs along the River Gauja itself, revealing an eye-pleasing riverside landscape. After a few kilometres, the traveller is drawn into the Skaļupe Mythological Trail, where ancient Latvian deities – Māra and Laima, Ūsiņš and others – bless the hiker and give strength for the further journey. The cache is a part of the “The Forest Trail” cache series. The Forest Trail is a part of the European long-distance hiking route E11 in the Baltic States, which leads through the most beautiful forests and national parks of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The project, which has been developed with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020, includes 45 cache places in the northern part of the Forest Trail from Old Riga to the Estonian border. We recommend combining cache hunting with a walk along one of the 15 scenic sections of the northern part of the Forest Trail.
