Geocache Description:

23 October 2021, 12:30 - 18:00

12:30 PM to 6:00 PM

Fall pot luck, games, prizes, and most importantly... geo-friends!

I'll take Fun Times at Parker Dam for $200, mrGreen... Answer: A game that challenges your geocaching, geography, and geologic knowledge while being surrounded by your friends in the geocaching community. What is Geo-Jeopardy?

That's right! The Game Night event series by Two "greens" travels north of I-80 once again this year for another year of Fall-time fun!

Probable schedule:

Before 12:30 pm: The pavilion is rented all day; setup will be ongoing at GZ as soon as the hosts are able to arrive, sometime between 9am and 10am; enjoy the offerings of the state park if you arrive before the official start time. You might even want to track down some area geocaches if desired.

12:30 PM: Event kick off; meet and greet

1:00 PM: Food, friends, and geo-conversation

2:30 PM: Geo-Jeopardy - Four (or more) contestants will battle each other giving the questions that match the stated answers in two rounds (Geo-Jeopardy and Double Geo-Jeopardy) to earn the most geo-cache-points and be declared the winner! We intend to have our buzzers, video question boards, and maybe even theme music to provide a realistic Geo-Jeopardy experience. Play-in rounds (depending on player interest), are being anticipated, with up to 8 (or possibly more players) getting narrowed down to 3 players to take on our returning champ!

3:45 PM: Intermission (Game reset)

4:00 PM: PREVIEW! We hope to preview a new game idea for a short 30 minute version of what will hopefully be a fun, future game. More information will be forthcoming as the event gets closer.

4:45 PM: Geo Pyramid will return at this event. This will be the game's second appearance. So, practice up on your best clue-giving and guessing!

6:00 PM: Event conclusion and final event geo-conversation... Thanks to everyone for joining us!

Keep watching this page for any potential changes or additions to the event schedule.

Each in-person guest may practice their preferred distancing habits. With an outdoor space and event, there should be more than enough room to accommodate everyone. Bring your own food and drinks if that is more comfortable, or feel free to take the common pot luck food that is made available.

Recommendations and guidelines are always changing, and could do so as the event date approaches. We'll keep you up-to-date with safety provisions for the event by way of the event page announcements and updates.

Soft drinks, bottled water, and individually-wrapped snack foods should be present. Attendees may bring their own personal food items (if that is more comfortable) or share with the common food. If you do wish to bring food to share, there will be a table to place those items so other attendees know which is the shared food. If you are planning to share a food dish, posting the name/type of food in your "Will Attend" might be helpful to avoid a lot of duplication.

Helpful Items

Please indicate in your log the number that attend with your geo-user name, and (if possible) what your plans are for food offering or interest. This information will assist with event planning.

We are looking forward to sharing more Game Night fun with our geo friends and neighbors this fall!

If you can't stay for the entire event, feel free to drop in as you are able, considering the schedule posted above. If updates to the schedule are made as the event draws near, announcements will be made on this geocaching event listing to serve as alerts to these changes.

Driving to the event: Parker Dam State Park is in northern Clearfield County. From I-80, take Exit 111 onto PA 153 North for 5.5 miles. Turn right onto Mud Run Road, and then drive 2.5 miles to the park. Please note the posted speed limits on roads within the park. The hint will provide the specific location within the park by name. See this page for maps of the park.

For more information about the park, such as camping, hiking, or fishing opportunities, please see the main park page.
