Holy Trinity Church
Gwernaffield Parish Church, was originally built in 1838 as a small Chapel to Ease The Parish Church of Mold. It opened its doors for the Townships of Gwernaffield & Henre lsiffa in 1944. In 1860 The Church was Badly damaged by Arsonists, who Stole £13 - 11s - 9d, from the premesis. The Chapel was Demolished in 1871 & a new Style Church Was Built on the same site which opened in Aug 1872.
The Original Chapel Name, mentioned in 15th Century was Gwernaffield-y-waun.
(Gwern = Welsh for Alder Grove, Feld = Old English for Field & Gwaun = Welsh for Moorland).
