The Invasion of Northland is on!
At a couple of recent Wellington events I have attended, there has been some general chit-chat about maybe going further north after the MEGA weekend is over. A few people seem to be having similar thoughts, so perhaps we ought to start making some plans?
Obviously this event was initially set up whilst the Auckland MEGA was a happening thing, and whilst it has finally succumbed to Covid-19, there are those who may still want to make the trip up north to make the most of the short working week following Labour weekend.
Want to try to get some TMGT and PWGT caches?
Maybe a visit to Cape Reinga?
Slide down the giant sandunes at Te Paki?
Get New Zealand's most northerly cache?
Spend a day in the Bay of Islands?
So many places to see and things to do, and maybe you can find some people to buddy up with to make the whole thing more enjoyable?
And even if you are not heading up to Northland, you are still welcome to come along today for the purely social side of geocaching
Due to the current restrictions around events being held under Delta Level 2, the original venue of the Sprig and Fern Tavern in Jackson St, Petone has had to be shelved. This new location is completely outdoors, but has a couple of covered sheltered areas nearby in case of less than delightful Wellington Weather.
Please feel free to bring along any food and drink of your own. There's plenty of fun things for the junior cachers to have fun with, and if anyone wants to get some caching in after the event then I'm sure you can find someone to buddy up with.
I hope to see you there
