The Summer tourist season is coming to an end, and the Tri-State Geocachers are going to contribute time and work to clean up a local section of the Delaware River.
You are expected to provide your own boat that you can use to gather the trash we retrieve. We will meet at the posted coordinates at 11:00am, gathering litter and other trash we find. After gathering trash, we'll paddle down the river toward the Tri-State Rock and end at Tri-State RV Campground where we can drop off all trash collected.
Note: this event is rated as 5-terrain and as such, participants are expected to provide their own kayaks and will encounter several Class One rapids along the way. You will need to provide your own gear, and whistles, and must wear appropriate personal floatation devices (PFDs) for the duration of their time on the water. Depending on the COVID status at the time of the event, we will follow all state guidance on the pandemic including but not limited to maintaining 6-ft social distance and wear a mask when not 6 feet apart. You cannot log this event by merely showing up at the starting and/or ending point; some might call that helpful but this is a CITO and we need participants to participate in our work. The work of the participants last year was beyond stellar and those who contributed to the effort were most appreciated by those who live and work along the river. Thanks for your help!
We are working on optional transportation to be offered for a limited number of participants, one driver per car, who sign up in advance first-come first-served and leave vehicles at the starting point and remain with the team throughout to be taken back to the starting point at the conclusion of the event.
